Abstract: A simple to employ corrosion protecting coating based on sol-gel derived new nanocomposites for Al alloys has been developed. This composite coating reacts to the Al surface by formation of a thermodynamically stabilized interface. Moreover, for pressure cast Al, the coating process can be used for sealing the pores at the same time.
