Abstract: | Basing on the previous projects, realized by the partners (1. Film and Cultures of Memory; 2. Trauma – Memory – Narration in Audiovisual Arts), the book presents studies of the phenomena of Trauma and Dream in Spanish language literatures.
Spain and Latin American countries have experienced collective traumas, that is why the Spanish language countries have developed a wide spectrum of using literature as expression of the inexpressible aspects of the individual and common past. The articles investigate the correlation between the trauma and oniric discourses which are, at first sight, structured in a similar way (fragmentation of time, space, action, identity, nostalgic, and melancholic discourses, etc), discovering the contribution of the Spanish literature to European and World culture in terms of developing aesthetics and poetics of alternative models of dreamlike reality as compensatory artistic visions caused by trauma (Benito Pérez Galdós; Miguel de Unamuno; Federico García Lorca/las vanguardias; Ana María Matute, Julio Llamazares; Sanchis Sinisterra/teatro del posfranquismo). |
